বাংলাদেশের নিটওয়্যার শিল্পক্ষেত্রটির দেশের অর্থনীতিতে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান আছে। নিটওয়্যার শিল্প বিরাট সংখ্যক কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ তৈরি করে এবং তার ফলে আরও বেশি পরিমাণে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা উপার্জিত হয়।

বিস্তার ঘটাতে গেলে প্রোডাক্টের মধ্যে বৈচিত্র্য নিয়ে আসা একটি অপরিহার্য বিষয়। গত বছরগুলির ডেটাতে দেখা যাচ্ছে যে বাংলাদেশ আজকের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গী অনুযায়ী ফ্যান্সি-নয় এমন প্রোডাক্টও রপ্তানি করেছে। পছন্দ, ফ্যাশন এবং দীর্ঘস্থায়িত্ব-এর ক্ষেত্রে হওয়া পরিবর্তন হল আজকের সবচেয়ে চর্চিত বিষয়। অনুমান করা হচ্ছে যে মহিলা ও শিশুদের জামা-কাপড়ের ক্ষেত্রটি সবচেয়ে পরিবর্ধিত হবে।

বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে বহু নতুন ধরণের উপাদান সৃষ্টি হয়েছে এবং বেশিরভাগ সরবরাহকারীরাই প্রাকৃতিক তুলো, Tencel Lyocell, Amni Coul Eco জৈব-পচনশীল পলিমাইড এবং পুনর্বব্যবহারযোগ্য পলিয়েস্টার ব্যবহার করে উপাদানগুলি তৈরী করেছেন। কাঁটা-ঝোপ, ফেলে দেওয়া খাবার এবং পাইন ছুঁচ ব্যবহার করেও বেশ অপ্রচলিত ধরণের সুতো তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

এই নতুন ধরনের সুতো আসার ফলে সেগুলি ব্যবহার করে সেলাই করা জামা-কাপড় এমনভাবে বানানোটা একটা চ্যালেঞ্জ যাতে সুতো বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত না হয়, সুতোর জোর না কমে যায়, (সুতোগুলি শুকনো হওয়ার কারণে) ঘর্ষণের ফলে ও গরম হয়ে গিয়ে সুতো পুড়ে না যায়, মোটা ও সরু সুতোর একাধিক মিশ্রণ ব্যবহার করা যায়।

During the current situation there were many material innovations created and the majority of these suppliers have created materials utilizing organic cotton, Tencel Lyocell, Amni Coul Eco bio degradable polyamide and recycled polyester. Also less conventional fibres made from nettles, food waste and pine needles have being introduced.

With the new types of yarns coming in there would be more challenges while sewing them in order to achieve the stitched garment with less damage to the yarns, reduction of the yarn strength , Friction and burning of the yarn due to the heat (due to the dryness of the yarn), usage of multiple combination of thicker and thinner yarns .
